Hi! My name is Carly Scott, and music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was first introduced to piano in elementary school and took lessons on and off through middle school. In high school, I began teaching myself and rediscovered a deep love for the instrument that has stayed with me ever since.
Music has always been central to my life. I sang in choir throughout my school years and later pursued formal music studies at Chemeketa Community College, where I studied piano under Susan Johnson. I then transferred to Corban University to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Music, graduating magna cum laude in May 2026. I currently study piano under Asya Gulua and also perform as a percussionist with my school’s concert band.
I began my private teaching business in the summer of 2022 and have loved watching students grow—some of whom have been with me since the very beginning. I am especially passionate about working with children and helping students build a strong musical foundation. My teaching focuses on music theory, music history, technique, and artistry, while encouraging confidence and a genuine love for music.
Outside of piano, I’m a dog mom to two golden retrievers, Ginny and Molly. They love being apart of my lessons. I play percussion with the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra. I also enjoy photography, building LEGO sets, and spending time in the sun!
